Security Alarms for homes need a $20 permit a year, now?
Our city has decided to begin charging everyone with a security system, a $20 permit fee. Of course, we already pay for the system to be put in by a local company, and then pay that local company money every month to have it be working. I cannot see how this will help keep crime down in our city. People have to apply for a permit, whether it is a business or a residence, get approved, and then, get to pay the local company each month as well. The city seems to be helping crime by doing this. What do you think about this?
Already, there are expensive charges for false alams……..up to $400 for the alarm going off when no one is in the home (supposedly) to set it off! I would say that false alarms are really well covered. I’ve had my system for over ten years and this is just not reasonable to me.
Digital Phone, Cable and our home security system going off when cable goes out? Need a fix for that.?
We recently had digital phone hooked up. We had cable for the computer and tv for years. I heard great things about digital phone, which, eh, it’s ok. Clarity is not so great, even with a 5.8MH phone which is brand new.
That’s not my problem though.
We have a security system for our home, and that was installed 12yrs ago and is hooked up to the telephone line.
Apparently when cable goes out for just a second, our alarm sounds. It happened last night at 2am.
One box (alarm system) is located in my son’s closet which is locked and I do not have a key. I would assume that is where the hook up is for the telephone cable.
Second box is in my other son’s room, which is the electrical supply.
The company that installed the system is no longer in business.
My question is:
How do I get into the metal 20″ X 15″ box to disconnect the telephone line and which line is it , and how to do this without interupting the normal functions of alarm. It is not monitored.

how can I find people who need a security alarm system for their home or business?
I work for ADT Security Services.
My job is to go out and knock on peoples doors and find those who are interested in a free alarm system for their home, with installation include. There is a $99 activation fee and they have to pay monitoring fees of about $30-$50 per month.
How can I find local people that are searching for something like this without having to knock on doors. I really want to generate sales without having to knock on doors.
More like people calling me interested to join instead.
